Pushgate locks apps you choose and opens them after push-ups or squats. Camera pictures are analysed on your device and are never saved or uploaded. There is no user account and no advertising. The software library that recognises your body sends technical usage statistics to Google; details are in section 5.

The list of apps you locked, your settings (exercise, repetitions and minutes per unlock), the time until which your apps are open, and your statistics (repetitions today and in total, number of unlocks, current streak). All of this is stored only in the app's private storage on your device. The developer has no access to it.
During a workout the app uses the camera to recognise your body position and count repetitions. The pictures are processed on your device in real time. They are not saved, not recorded and not transmitted. The camera is only active while the workout screen is open.
To show the gate in front of the apps you locked, Pushgate uses the Android Accessibility service. It uses it for one purpose only: to notice which app comes to the front. The service does not read the content of your screen, does not see what you type and does not perform actions for you. The information which app is in front is used on the device at that moment and is not stored or transmitted. You switch the service on yourself in the Android settings and can switch it off there at any time; the app then no longer locks anything.
Body recognition is done by Google ML Kit, which runs on your device. ML Kit does not send your camera pictures or body positions to Google. According to Google, the library does collect technical data to measure and improve its performance: device information (such as model, operating system version), app information (package name, version), an identifier created per installation, performance figures (such as processing time) and the configuration and type of the functions used. This data is transmitted to Google in encrypted form. Details: ML Kit terms and Google privacy policy.
One locked app with push-ups is free. Pushgate Pro is a subscription offered as a weekly or a yearly plan through Google Play. The price, the term and any free trial period are shown in full before you buy. The subscription renews automatically and can be cancelled at any time in the subscription settings of Google Play. Google handles the payment and processes the necessary data as an independent controller under Google's privacy policy. The developer receives no payment data, only the information whether a valid subscription exists, and that is evaluated on your device only.
After your first completed workout the app may show Google Play's rating dialog. The dialog is provided by Google Play; the app does not learn whether or how you rated.
The app contains no advertising and no advertising IDs. Apart from the technical statistics of ML Kit described in section 5, it contains no analytics or tracking components and no crash reporting. App data is excluded from Android's cloud backup.
If you uninstall the app, all locally stored settings and statistics are deleted with it. Because the developer holds no data about you, a deletion request to the developer is not necessary.
Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
If the functions of the app change, this policy will be updated. The version published here applies.
